The job
This customer chose one of our own designs, the Bilbao fireplace in Oriental White, made in our factory at Osnath Works in Warrington, paired with a Wildfire Cressida HE high efficiency gas fire in black. The Cressida HE is rated at 87 percent efficiency with a 4.2 kW output, which makes it a practical main heat source for a living room as well as a good looking one.
During the work
The existing surround and hearth were removed and the opening taken back to the brick so the new fire could be fitted correctly and the chamber checked. It is not a glamorous stage, but it is the one that decides whether the finished fireplace sits square, seals properly and performs as it should.
The finish
The Bilbao is a clean, modern surround with a deep header and straight legs, and Oriental White keeps it bright against a coloured wall. The black fascia and trim of the Cressida HE give it a sharp centre without competing with the surround. Installation was carried out by one of the independent Gas Safe registered engineers we work with, who quotes and is paid for the fitting directly.
