Before

This customer started with a painted electric suite on a flat chimney breast. It did the job, but they wanted a real fire and the look of a proper chamber, so the whole thing came out and the opening was built up from scratch.
What we fitted
The new fireplace is a Bassington multi fuel stove, set in a brick chamber with side returns so the brick wraps round to the face of the wall rather than stopping at the opening. It sits on a rustic limestone hearth, and a medium oak beam finishes the top. All four pieces came from us, and the installation was carried out by one of the independent HETAS registered engineers we work with, who quotes and is paid for the fitting directly.

The photos were taken on the day the stove was first lit, before the room was decorated and the floor finished, which is why the walls and floor are still bare. The beam has been left with its natural surface and the limestone with a riven edge, so both will sit comfortably with whatever the customer chooses for the rest of the room.
Thinking about swapping an electric fire for a stove?
The first question is always the chimney. A stove needs a suitable flue, so start with our guide to how to identify your chimney or flue type, or bring a photo of the chimney breast into the Warrington showroom at Osnath Works, Lythgoes Lane, WA2 7XE and we will tell you what is possible. You can see a range of multi fuel and wood burning stoves lit and running there. Call 01925 230045.
