What we did
This customer in Wigan wanted the classic look of a solid fuel stove with a clean, simple chamber around it. We supplied a Chatsworth multi fuel stove, which burns wood or approved smokeless fuels, so they can choose whichever suits them through the year.
The hearth is a single piece of slate, so there are no joins across the front, and the beam above the chamber is non combustible, which means it can sit close to the stove without the clearance problems a standard timber beam can bring. The customer had already styled the mantel before the plastering was finished, which tells you how quickly it became the corner of the room they wanted to sit around.
