Bespoke marble fireplace with a Ravel 400 gas stove in Appleton, Warrington

Before

The room started with a traditional white surround and a cast iron arched insert with a coal effect basket. Handsome in its day, but the customer wanted something cleaner and more modern that would sit comfortably under a wall mounted television.

After

We made a bespoke marble fireplace at our Osnath Works factory in Warrington, sized for the wall and the television above. The chamber and hearth are black granite, which frames the fire and keeps the look sharp against the white marble. Inside sits a Wildfire Ravel 400 gas stove, so the customer gets the freestanding stove look with the convenience of gas: real controllable warmth, no logs to store and no ash to clear.

Because the fireplace is made to measure, the proportions are exact: the mantel lines up with the television and the granite hearth sits flush to the floor. It is a good example of how a full room can change with one wall done properly.
